Role Purpose
CJA Telecommunications is seeking a skilled Abseiler / Rope Access Technician with experience in microwave systems and customer ISDP applications. The ideal candidate will perform maintenance, installation, and inspection of telecom equipment at heights while ensuring safety, efficiency, and technical accuracy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, installation, and inspection of telecom towers, poles, rooftops, and other elevated structures using rope access techniques.
- Install, align, and maintain microwave antennas, RF links, and associated equipment.
- Work on customer ISDP (Integrated Service Delivery Platform) applications, ensuring proper setup, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Inspect and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), anchors, and ropes before every task.
- Document all work completed and report technical or safety issues to supervisors.
- Participate in emergency or high-risk operations when required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Certification in rope access and abseiling (IRATA or SPRAT preferred).
- Hands-on experience with microwave systems, RF links, and signal alignment.
- Knowledge and practical experience with customer ISDP applications.
- Strong understanding of telecom equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to work at heights in challenging environments.
- Commitment to safety protocols and risk management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma preferred.
- Rope access certification (Level 1 minimum; Level 2/3 preferred for supervisory roles).
- First aid and emergency rescue training.
- Training in microwave equipment installation and ISDP system integration.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor and elevated work environments (towers, rooftops, poles).
- Exposure to heights, weather, and sometimes hazardous conditions.
- Use of PPE, harnesses, helmets, and safety gear is mandatory.
